Description
This very rarely offered tree is native to the rain forest in NE Australia. It is related to the Golden Penda Tree (Xanthostemon chrysanthus) but it produces beautiful scarlet red flowers. It is a summer bloomer and also an early bloomer (as small as 4″ pot). The red variety is quite rare on the market.
This is a medium size tree for full to partial sun. It can also be kept as a compact tree in a small garden or container. Has appealing pinkish orange new growth.
Can take freezing temperatures for a short period of time, but best to avoid if possible.
