Hoya latifolia (former macrophylla) (outer-variegated) (5″ pot)

Description

This Hoya macrophylla clone forms big beautiful variegated leaves. You can see green, white, and even pink colors on the leaves. The showy colors tend to come out more during the cooler months and also when exposed to more light.
The flowers on this Hoya are simple but are pretty and have a mild pleasant fragrance. The corolla ranges from light yellow to light pink and the corona is off-white with yellow center. Once mature, the flowers can be seen frequently during the warmer months. May need artificial lights and humidity if grown indoors for maximum flowers.

We grow our Hoyas outside in south Florida in filtered light, we let the soil dry in between waterings, and we protect well from cold temperatures.
H. macrophylla is cold sensitive and you may need to grow indoors. Make sure you provide some air circulation to it by perhaps using a fan in the room.
This Hoya tends to develop black dots on the leaves when grown outside in hot and humid FL. The spots are not a disease and will not affect the plants health. If you grow your Hoyas in a different climate, the new growth should be clean.
