Also known as Beach Hibiscus, this is a tropical evergreen shrub or small tree which can reach a height of about 30 feet. In nature they grow near coastal swamps, making them very highly salt tolerant. They have very distinct leaves which are elongated, undulate, and creamy yellow with green stripes! They bloom year-round, producing a light-yellow flower with a dark maroon center. Throughout the day, the blooms can change to a deep orange/red before falling. They would be an excellent plant for dense screening and hedging or as a tree to provide shade.
