This is a beautiful terrestrial orchid that has bamboo-like stems and large elongated foliage, the flowers peek through over the top of the plant. The showy fancy flowers are colored pink and lavender with unique petals and sepals, resembling birds or airplanes flying through the sky. The color of the pink is not solid, giving a pretty and delicate water-color effect.

Description
Grow in very bright indirect light. The plant will grow in full sun, but for larger prettier flowers bright indirect light is best. This makes them great for house plants or taking up a bright shady spot in the garden. This orchid is found through Mexico and Central America. It grows in a well-draining potting soil with plenty of nutrients. They are water loving, wait until the top layer of soil has completely dried in between watering though to ensure the soil stays moist and not soggy. Protect from freezing temperatures- if growing in a cold climate, I recommend growing in a container.
