Bauhinia acuminata – Dwarf White Orchid Tree (check back in fall 2024)

Description

This is a great dwarf tree for small yards. It will only grow to about 6′ and won’t take up much space. 
Bauhinia acuminata will produce fragrant white flowers that look like snowflakes hanging off the branches. Sometimes it is called Snowy Orchid Tree.
Like the other Orchid Trees, the leaves are interestingly shaped like ox hooves.
Expect Bauhinas to not look very good in the winter, they go dormant to semi-dormant.
As the weather gets cooler, it will lose a lot of its leaves, only to resprout as the weather warms up. It will bloom as long as the weather is warm.
