Description

We purchased this Hoya from the late Chris Burton. She said that she received it from a friend in Hawaii named Michael Miyashiro. He is a well known Hoya collector and hybridizer.
The leaves are medium green color, long and lanceolate. The new growth starts very pubescent, but we noticed that the leaves become less fuzzy with age. The leaves get a pinkish-red color when the plant is exposed to more light and/or in the winter time, especially the underside of the leaves.
This attractive Hoya also produces flowers that are a cranberry color with yellow and cranberry star corona in the center. The flowers look super neat during the opening stages. The buds are dark dark red/purple. This Hoya is one of the best blooming Hoyas that I have! It blooms non-stop for me once mature, even in the winter time! The flowers also smell sweet like caramel!

This Hoya is rarely offered for sale. We grow our Hoyas outside in south Florida in filtered light. We only water when they are dry and we protect from cold temperatures.
