Description
This is a special hybrid by Michael Miyashiro that may still be unpublished. I purchased this plant from the late Chris Burton. It is also known as MM’s hybrid.
It develops big leaves that are similar to those of H. finlaysonii. It is a very vigorous growing vine and the leaves just get bigger and bigger.
My mother plant bloomed in two years and the flower clusters are larger than those on a H. carnosa. The corolla is pale yellow with pinkish margins and the corona is off-white. Very pretty flowers with a very pleasant fragrance! This is a beautiful cultivar, both flowers and leaves!
We grow our Hoyas outside in south Florida in filtered light, we only water when dry, and we protect well in the winter.
