Description

This was formerly known as H. pubicalyx ‘White Dragon’, but was published as Hoya celata in 2012 by Kloppenburg, Siar, Mendoza, Cajano, and Carandang.
It was difficult finding the correct plant because the first few times I purchased this hoya from different vendors, the flowers always turned out pink. I was finally able to receive the real white pubicalyx and I took cuttings from my mother plant to ensure the correct plant for my customers.
The leaves are not really similar to Hoya pubicalyx. They remind me more of a Hoya meliflua. The leaves are glabrous, light green, and thick. Does not normally have any flecks.
This hoya was an extremely early bloomer for me, 6 months or less from a CUTTING. The fuzzy flowers are all white and super fragrant. The fragrance is spicy like cloves.
Very pretty hoya that is rarely offered for sale!

We grow our hoyas outside in south FL in filtered light, we only water when they dry out, and we protect well from cold temperatures.
