Description
Zygopetalum Jumpin’ Jack – is an epiphyte, orchid native to Central and South America, found mostly in Brazil, where they are seen growing on branches, and on the trunks of larger trees. They have long, light green, lily-like leaves that reach about 2 ft in height. This specific hybrid blooms up to twice a year with flowers that can last up to 2 – 3 months. They have beautiful medium purple clustered flowers that stand tall, and upright from the stems. They have a fragrance that resembles the scent of hyacinth and bloom in the winter, early springtime. They have large pseudobulbs which store water, making them more tolerant to dry mediums. They thrive with good air circulation, and well-draining soil, it’s best to keep the soil slightly moist during their growing season, and slightly drier in the winter season.
