This tropical tree bears fruit that is commonly used for sauces, salsas, juices, preserves etc… Eaten raw when green, the fruit is sour and crunchy normally sprinkled with salt. Ripened to a yellow orange color, it is sweet and has the texture of a mango, containing vitamins of A, B and C. It thrives in warm temperatures in tropical climates or greenhouses.

Description

Grow in full sun in a well draining, nutrient dense soil mix. This tree flowers and fruits at a young age, fruiting in pairs in the Winter long after the leaves have dropped, holding onto the fruit for up to 8 months. Protect from freezing temperatures.
