Proiphys amboinensis – Cardwell Lily – Northern Christmas Lily (check back summer 2024)

This is a rare tropical bulb for collectors. This plant has large, glossy, kidney-shaped leaves and blooms white in the summer. The flowers produced on top of long stalks look similar to Agapanthus or Lily of the Nile. Very attractive and unusual plant.

Syn: Eurycles amboinensis

A stunning hosta-like plant in the Amaryllis family that develops beautiful glossy kidney-shaped leaves.
During the warm months, a tall stalk will form towering above the foliage, and will display a beautiful cluster of white flowers. The flowers last a long time, similar to Amaryllis.
The flowers are nice, but the oddly shaped leaves make this plant very unique. Rarely offered for sale.
