Lagerstroemia macrocarpa – Giant Crape Myrtle

This is a rare tropical flowering tree that produces large crepe paper like pinkish purple flowers. The blooms, leaves, and fruit are larger than L. speciosa.

 

Description

Macrocarpa means “Large Fruit” and indeed the flowers are larger than L. speciosa, so are the leaves and fruit. The tree itself doesn’t appear to be much bigger.
Beautiful rare tropical tree that we are offering for the first time.
