It is a winter dormant. The plant will wake up in the spring time and the pinkish/purple flowers can be seen through out the summer time. Peacock gingers normally bloom first in the spring and then the leaves emerge after it is done flowering. This species in particular blooms at the same time as you see the foliage and it is very attractive. Keep it above 40F. Great for foliage lovers or anyone looking for something rare and unusual.
