Description
This is a very rare Hoya native to The Philippines. It has a more shrubby habit and does not twine. It has thin, narrow and elongated, light green leaves with no flecks. This Hoya used to be known as H. sp. Flat Stem and this is literally because some of the stems are flat. It is very unusual and the only Hoya I have seen that does this.
I received this Hoya as a rooted cutting and very shortly after I planted it, it already started to bloom. It appears to be an early bloomer and a good bloomer. The individual flowers are on the larger side, similar to Hoya multiflora in size. The flowers are pale yellowish-green with pink tones. The flowers have a nice lemony scent in the evening. I also really like the buds as they remind me of a cluster of shooting stars or fireworks.
This Hoya is just really cool and very rarely offered for sale! For the true collector!
We grow our hoyas outside in S. FL in filtered light and protect these tropicals from cold temperatures. I would give this Hoya more water due to the thinner leaves.
