This is a very neat tropical shrub with ivy-like leaves that can be trained as a Bonsai tree. The exotic looking bright yellow flowers that emerge from dangling overlapping bracts are quite showy and resemble a parrot’s beak.

Ships in 4″ pot. Does not come with flowers.

Description

A very interesting pendant raceme is formed like a chain, emerging exotic yellow flowers. Very neat tropical shrub with ivy-like leaves that is also good for Bonsai. The trunk will develop interesting bark with age. The plant does have spines. Flowers resemble a parrot’s beak.
Gmelina is pronounced with a silent G. Excellent for Bonsai. Rare plant.
