This tree is relatively hardy, tolerating as low as 20 degrees F for brief periods of time. It will be damaged from too much cold, so it is advised to protect it from freezing temperatures. It grows in full sun to part shade and goes dormant in the Winter. Water moderately in warm months, waiting for the top few inches of soil to dry out before watering again.
