Caesalpinia pulcherrima ‘Mexican Flame’ – Dwarf Poinciana – Peacock Flower (email for availability)

$1.00

This tropical shrub produces flowers that resemble a Royal Poinciana tree, with the advantage of not growing so large. This clone has more beautiful, bigger, and brighter attention grabbing flowers, even more so than the common dwarf poinciana. This is recommended for someone who cannot grow the Royal poinciana due to size.

Description

Similar to C. pulcherrima, but the flowers on this species are nicer. They are bigger and brighter. Very striking yellow, orange, and red flowers in the same bunch. It blooms in the summer time.

This variety of dwarf poinciana also has a blu-ish color hint to the leaves, very attractive!

This variety of Caesalpinia also does not grow as big as the regular dwarf poinciana and no where as large as the royal poinciana. On average, they grow only to 4-5 feet tall. This is a perfect shrub or small tree for small yards or containers.

It grows outside in tropical locations in full to partial sun, it likes average water, fertilizing, and pruning.

It is a more unusual variety not always found for sale.

All photos were taken of our mature mother plants, not the plants for sale.
