Description
This is an unusual miniature fern in the Bird’s Nest Fern family. It’s a hybrid between A. prolongatum and A. antiquum. It forms narrow, evergreen fronds with sinuate margins or wave-like indentations. The fronds have a “tail like” leaf extension on the ends. When mature, it also forms little plantlets on the tips of the “tails”. I’ve only seen this cutie reach a height of about 12″. It is easy to grow as long as you keep it in a warm shady area, slightly moist, and protect from freezing temperatures. This is an uncommon fern for collectors.
All photos were taken at a previous time or of my mature mother plants, not of the exact plants for sale.
