Description

Cyathea cooperi, commonly known as the Australian Tree Fern or Lacy Tree Fern, is a fast-growing, evergreen tree fern prized for its elegant, tropical appearance. It forms a slender, upright trunk topped with a broad crown of finely divided, arching fronds that create a soft, lace-like canopy. Mature fronds can reach several meters in length, giving the plant a dramatic, architectural presence in landscapes and gardens.

The trunk is typically pale and marked with distinctive oval scars from old fronds, while new fronds emerge as tightly coiled “fiddleheads” covered in soft, silky scales. This species is widely used in landscaping due to its rapid growth, adaptability, and lush, rainforest aesthetic.
