Description
T. kampong pink was brought to this country by Larry M. Schokman (former curator of the Kampong). He planted it as a seedling and the tree grew to 30′ and never bloomed. He was just about to cut it down when it bloomed for the fist time and it turned out to be one of the most beautiful Tabebuias. The tree gets covered with flowers and the flower clusters are really tight, almost like “balls of flowers” at the end of the branches. The tree flowers in the spring (mature trees or grafted trees only) and the flowers are kind of long lasting for a Tabebuia. (more than one month). Tabebuias like full sun and become beautiful trees in the ground (tropical locations only). Tabebuias are deciduous trees. This being a graft, you can keep it in a large pot. It requires average water and fertilizer.
