Description
This Hoya lacunosa clone was named after a man who helped David Liddle collect it from a tree. Hoya lacunosa are easy to grow and are mostly purchased for the amazing powerful fragrant flowers. There are many cultivars out there now with different shaped leaves. The “poonsak” has attractive small narrow leaves with some “dimples” or indents. The foliage is medium green but can turn shades of pink, red, and orange when exposed to more light. The flowers are your typical small lacunosa flowers. The buds are pure white, the corolla is fuzzy and snow white, and the corolla is white with yellow center. The fragrance of the flowers will fill up the whole room and becomes more powerful at night. We grow our Hoyas outside in S. FL in filtered light, most are kept pretty dry, and they are protected from cold temperatures. Hoya lacunosa likes humidity and you will need to provide this to it if you live in a dry climate or plan to grow indoors.
All photos were taken of our mature mother plants in bloom, not of the young plants for sale.
