Description
I purchased this Hoya from the late Chris Burton.
“Glabra” refers to the glabrous leaves and stems. This Hoya has impressive glossy leaves that get quite big. The leaves are one of my favorites and I would say a must have for the foliage lover. The green, puckered leaves have 5 conspicuous and prominent veins. The underside of the leaves have 3 brownish/purple veins.
The flowers are really unusual and pretty. The corolla is mostly yellowish/green and the corona is pink and purple with yellow center. One interesting fact about the flowers is you have to view them at night time. The flowers close back up at sunrise.
This Hoya is a robust and fast grower for me. We grow our hoyas outside in filtered light, keep soils slightly dry and protect from cold temperatures.
