This tropical succulent “wax flower” is purchased for the very attractive foliage. Some leaves are cordate or heart-shaped. The leaves are light green with a pretty darker green vein pattern and some silver flecks. An unusual species for the collector.

Ships in 4″ net pot. Photo #2 ONLY, is the exact plant for sale.

This Hoya is native to Sumatra and it is in the finlaysonii group. The leaves are light green with darker green veins which displays a very nice design. If exposed to more light, you can see pretty orange and red colors on the leaves. The leaves sometimes also form a heart shape and sometimes develop silver flecks. The amount of silver flecks varies on each plant.
Once mature, this beauty produces small, yellow, reflexed flowers with a light fragrance, similar to H. vitellinoides flowers. I personally like this one more for the interesting and beautiful leaves. This hoya is a slow grower at the beginning, but is easy and attractive which I think is worth having in your collection.

We grow our hoyas outside in south FL in filtered light, only water when it rains or when dry and protect well from cold temperatures.

All photos were taken of our mature mother plants, not the plants for sale.
