Description
A beautiful twining Hoya that would look nice on a small to medium trellis. The medium to big leaves have visible tri-nerve veins and some flecks.
The flowers are really beautiful. They are dark pinkish-purple with a yellow dot right in the center. The fragrance is mild, but is a pleasant sweet scent. This species is a slow grower in the beginning, but pretty enough to be worth it. I would not say this is a Hoya for a beginner looking for instant gratification. It is for a patient collector looking for really special and stunning species. I find the flowers to be absolutely gorgeous and have that “wow factor”. This Hoya is rarely offered for sale. It is native to Indonesia.
We grow our Hoyas outside in south FL in filtered light, we keep soils dry and we protect well from cold temperatures.
