Description

Beautiful vine for filtered light that is easy and fast growing in a tropical climate (outdoors). It likes warm weather and humidity.
This species in the Eriostemma section has fuzzy medium green oval leaves. Once mature, it produces unusual flowers that are very very dark, almost black, and that is why it is known as the Black Hoya. In my opinion the flowers smell like peanut butter!
You can see flowers during the warm months on well established plants only.
This hoya is native to The Philippines and you need to keep it above 50F. This hoya is rarely offered for sale.

I do not recommend this species to beginners. I do not recommend if you have to grow your Hoyas indoors, unless you are an experienced grower or have a proper grow room. It is much easier to grow outside.

All photos were taken of our mature mother plants, not the starter plants for sale.
