Surinam cherry is an excellent shrub for screens or hedges, with smooth, shiny, aromatic leaves which are bright red when young. The small, fragrant, white flowers are followed by one-inch diameter, tasty, ribbed, red berries that have unusually high concentrations of vitamin C.

Ships in 4″ pot. Does not come with fruit.

Description

Grow in full sun, however tolerates part shade, in a very well-draining nutrient dense soil. Let the top few inches of soil dry before watering, water more in the warm months than in the cool months. Protect from freezing. It can even grow in sandy soils. Can easily grow up to 7′ high.
