Description

This is a Hoya minahassae according to Liddle’s Nursery in Australia, but I purchased it from the late Chris Burton, “thehoyan”, and she believed this plant does not match the author’s published description of H. minahassae. She sold it to me as unidentified Hoya sp. IML 1863.
This lovely plant has thin green leaves with recurved edges. When the plant is exposed to more light, some leaves turn a beautiful shade of purple!
This Hoya took 1-1.5 years to start blooming for me. It has flat star shape flowers that have a nice but mild perfume fragrance. The fuzzy corolla is cream to pale yellow and the corona is a much darker yellow or orange. I really love these two unique colors together. This is an uncommon hoya to find for sale.

We grow our Hoyas outside in south FL in filtered light and we protect well from cold temperatures. Water when dry but don’t let this one get bone dry either.
