Description

A smaller variety of pomegranate best suited to ornamental use. The leaves of this plant are small and glossy, about an inch in length. Bright red-orange flowers, about 1.5″ across, bloom through the summer. They are followed in the fall by round red fruits, up to 2″ in diameter. Flowers and fruits attract birds. The fruits of this plant are technically edible, as with its larger cousin, although this variety is better suited to jams and jellies than raw consumption. Well-suited to be trained as a bonsai.
