A relatively recently discovered vining Philodendron native to Brazil, Guyana and French Guiana. The billietiae is a moderately fast growing Phil. On a red-hued stem, the long waxy textured heart-shaped leaves have a lime colored stripe painted down the middle that can reach up to 3′ long and crinkle with age. This climbing Philodendron requires lots of bright indirect sunlight and humidity levels around 50% for those leaves to expand and thrive. Provide the plant with loose, well-draining soil and keep the soil moist by watering once the top 1-2 inches of soil have dried out. Temperatures below 55 degrees F can cause permanent damage. Repot when you see roots peek out from under the pot.
