Description

Thai Constellation Monstera’s have many different leaves than the classic Monstera leaves, theirs are variegated in shades of cream and green. Variegated leaves come from a mutation caused by a lack of chlorophyll. This plant is native to the tropics. There, it gets lots of bright light filtered through the canopies, so place in bright indirect light when caring for this plant and avoid low light conditions. It prefers warm weather, between 65 and 80 degrees Fahrenheit. The priority when potting is having good drainage soil, the soil should stay moist but not soggy or mushy. Thai Constellations do not like to be root-bound, pot into bigger containers as it grows, keep in mind you won’t need to do this very often as they grow slowly. Water your Thai Constellation about once every week for warmer months and less in colder months. They have sensitive aerial roots, so the plants can be susceptible to root rot if watered too frequently, always check if the top few inches of soil is dry before watering again. Signs of over-watering are perspiration on the leaves and heavy, dense soil. Wilting, on the other hand, is a sign it’s being under-watered. Thai Constellations are climbers. Thai Constellations are not frost tolerant. Making the plant more variegated is achievable with proper care and maintenance.
