Description

This rare peacock ginger is a low growing perennial that grows underground rhizomes. The leaves grow nearly flat to the ground. They have a beautiful silver fleck design in a grid like pattern on blueish/green leaves. The markings actually look like hieroglyphics. This miniature form will please the avid collector. It grows only to 2″ in height in filtered light conditions. It is a winter dormant. The plant will wake up in the spring time and the pinkish/lavender flowers can be seen throughout the late spring and summer time. Peacock gingers normally bloom first in the spring and then the leaves emerge after it is done flowering. This species in particular blooms at the same time as you see the foliage and it is very attractive.
