Hoya kastbergii (2.5″ pot) (check back later)

$25.00

This Hoya has very unique silver dollar-like round leaves. You cannot get it confused with a different species. Once mature, it produces elegant small flowers that have a sweet, almost chocolate-like fragrance. In my experience it is also easy to grow. Rarely offered.

Ships in 3″ pot. Photo #2 and #3 ONLY, are an example on size plant for sale.
Our plants are grown outside in FL; imperfections/blemishes are typical for this one.

Description

H. kastbergii was published by D. Kloppenburg in 2003. It has really unique, thick, succulent, light green, silver dollar-like round leaves. It grows really fast for me and becomes a nice full plant in a hanging basket.
It produces delicate, small, elegant, fragrant flowers when mature. The fuzzy corolla is light to medium yellow with pretty pink corona. The flowers smell sweet and remind me a little of chocolate. This hoya bloomed for me in less than a year from a small plant. I would say this one is easy to grow and you would enjoy its uniqueness in your collection. It is native to Ketambe, Sumatra and is rarely offered for sale.

We grow our hoyas outside in south FL in filtered light, only water when dry and we protect well from cold temperatures. Hoyas also like small pots and I would avoid repotting when not needed.

All photos were taken of our mature mother plants in bloom, not of the plants for sale.
