Description

The first time I saw Hoya incrassata at Selby Gardens in Sarasota, FL I fell in love with it. The foliage is so elegant and more beautiful than Hoya crassicaulis. I got a cutting from the Selby curator and it grew really fast and started to bloom less than a year later. Hoya incrassata has very pretty yellow flowers with red tips and white corona. This Hoya blooms non-stop through out the warm months when mature and the flowers have a really nice citrus fragrance. My mother plant is always loaded with several clusters at a time. Even cuter than the flowers are the buds. I just love the design, it reminds me of a yellow sand dollar in the ocean! This hoya is very easy to grow and flower and is recommended for beginners. It is native to Malaysia, Thailand, and The Philippines. We grow our hoyas outside in filtered light, keep soils on the dry side, and protect from cold temperatures.

All pictures were taken of our mature mother plants in bloom, not of the plants for sale.
