Description

This is known as H. coriacea’s brother because fraternal actually means “like a brother”.

This is actually a pretty quick grower and is a fairly early bloomer for me. The leaves are thin, green, medium size, and with prominent veins.

Once established, it produces fuzzy yellow star-fish like flowers. The flowers are similar size to coriacea, buotii, etc. The petals eventually reflex and the odd pointy corona becomes the only star. One of the most fascinating flowers in the genus!

This hoya is very rarely offered for sale. Native to Java.

We grow our Hoyas outside in south FL in filtered light and we protect well from cold temperatures. Hoyas with thin leaves require a little bit more water than your average succulent species. Do not keep it soaked either, especially in the winter.

The flower pictures were taken of my mature mother plant in bloom, not of the plant for sale.
