Hoya densifolia (4″ pot specimen)

This Hoya grows more like a shrub and will like a little trellis. Outstanding colorful flowers with a fruity scent. Strong vigorous grower.

Ships in 4″ pot. Photo #2 ONLY, is an example on size plant for sale.

This species of Hoya is named for its dense leaves. This is a similar Hoya in appearance to the lovely Hoya cumingiana, but the leaves are larger, more narrow and have a more pointy tip. This species grows upright like a shrub, developing long branches and I recommend growing wrapped around a small trellis.

The flowers are outstanding. The corolla varies from yellow to green and the corona is burgundy with yellow tips. The blooms are pretty much identical to Hoya cumingiana in appearance and have the same delicious tropical fruity scent. The flowers last almost a week. This Hoya is rarely offered for sale.

We grow our Hoyas outside in S. FL in filtered light, let soils dry out before watering, and protect from cold temperatures.

All photos were taken of our mature mother plants in bloom, not of the young plants for sale.
