Description
This Hoya is a fast grower for me. It doesn’t always look super perfect because of our hot and humid FL climate, but it grows really well otherwise.
It has long and thin, green leaves with a sharp point.
It bloomed within 2 years from a small plant. The flowers are lovely and unique. The corolla is light green with touches of pink. The corona is dark pink with yellow tips. The individual flowers are much larger than H. carnosa and the clusters also last up to a week. There is a mild pleasant fragrance.
This Hoya is also sold as H. filiformis.
Native to Samoa, a Polynesian island.
We grow our hoyas outside in south FL in filtered light, we water the hoyas with thin leaves more than the ones with succulent leaves (but don’t keep it soaked either) and we protect well from cold temperatures.
