Hoya calycina (4″ pot)

I received this Hoya calycina from the late Ted Green. Ted Green passed away this year (2022) at the age of 100. He was a Hoya OG.
This Hoya has fuzzy velvet soft leaves and produces very fragrant white with red flowers when mature. Rarely offered.

Ships in 4″ pot. Photo #2 is the exact plant for sale.
Our plants are grown outside in FL; imperfections/blemishes are possible.

A rarely offered Hoya that gets big, beautiful flowers when mature and has really fuzzy and pretty leaves. The flowers on this species are similar to that of Hoya australis, but they are larger. The corolla is white with a red center and the corona is white. The flowers have a very pleasant strong fragrance. The leaves are really nice too because they are really fuzzy, similar to velvet and very soft to touch. This Hoya grows very well and fast for us once mature. It can be slow to grow at the beginning. It is a good climber and also looks nice in a hanging basket. Do not over-water this Hoya. This is one of our favorite hoyas.

I would recommend this Hoya to intermediate Hoya growers only.
