This exquisite flower, indigenous to Florida, is a perfect choice for enhancing a butterfly garden, its striking scarlet flowers bloom in clusters atop woody stems. The flowers are tubular and often attract a variety of pollinators.

This plant likes full sun to partial shade. It prefers its sandy soil to dry a bit in between waterings as it is drought tolerant, but do not under water. It thrives in warmer temperatures from 65°F to 85°F. This Erythrina can withstand temperatures down to about 20°F for short periods, especially if they are well-established. It can reach a mature height of 3-10 feet if well cared for.
