Native to Costa Rica and Bolivia, this blooming plant produces stunning colorful clusters of flowers that have a sweet fragrance. The flower’s purple have a blueish hue to them. The foliage is succulent like. It can be grown as an epiphyte if the conditions are humid enough. Makes a good house plant or to take up a shady spot in the garden.

Description

This plant grows terrestrially or epiphytically. If growing epiphytically make sure to water more frequently and provide medium to high humidity. If grown in a pot, the soil should be well-draining and nutrient rich. The plant prefers a position in indirect light, direct light will damage the plant. Water frequently enough where the soil is evenly and consistently moist, but not sitting in large amounts of water as root rot will occur. Protect from freezing temperatures.
