Description

Very beautiful clumping rhizome plant in the Amaryllis family. The long deep green foliage is very attractive on its own. In late winter or early spring, lovely bright orange flowers emerge and last for several weeks. It is quite the show stopper at our plant shows.

We highly recommend very little water for this plant in the fall/winter time. If it rains, don’t water at all. This will encourage blooming. Over watering will not kill the plant, but it may not bloom.
Fertilize with a 1-1-1-ratio. Don’t over fertilize.

FAMILY : Amaryllidaceae
ORIGIN : South Africa
MATURE SIZE : 20″-24″ potted plant
LIGHT REQUIREMENTS : bright shade
WATER REQUIREMENTS : water more during growing season, stop watering in the fall to encourage blooms
MIN. TEMP. : low 30’s for short periods
FLOWER : bright orange; spring when mature
