A beauty that is not always offered for sale, native to Christmas Island which is a territory of Australia. This hoya has pretty, succulent, medium size green leaves with visible veins. It grows really really fast for me and became an attractive full plant quickly. I would not say it is an early bloomer, but once it starts, it blooms quite a bit and the flowers are gorgeous. My mother plant is sometimes covered with clusters of flowers. The corolla is mauve pink and the corona is dark pinkish-purple. This species grows well for me, but as you can see in the photos, the leaves develop black dots from the high humidity. They are literally just "freckles" and do not affect the plant. If you grow your plants in a different climate then they should not develop spots. We grow our hoyas outside in S. FL in filtered light, keep soils slightly dry and protect from cold temperatures.
