HYMENOCALLIS CARIBAEA ‘VARIEGATA’ - Spider Lily

This is an unusual tropical plant in the Amaryllis family with stunning strap-like variegated leaves. It develops large, white, fragrant, spidery blooms that smell like vanilla or honey suckle. It is a shade loving plant that can be grown in a container.

This is an unusual tropical plant in the Amaryllis family with stunning strap-like variegated leaves. It grows well as a container plant up to 24" tall. Foliage lovers and variegated leaf collectors will love this plant, but the flowers are also really interesting and weird, but in a good way! It develops large, white, spidery blooms that are fragrant. I would describe the scent of the flowers as vanilla or honey suckle.
We grow this beauty in bright filtered light. Water and fertilization is average. It is known to be a bog/pond plant, but we do not keep them wet and they do just fine. Hardy in zones 7-11. Not commonly found in Florida, but grows well.

All photos were previously taken of my mother plants, not the plants for sale.
