We purchased this as Hoya gigantanganensis IML 1830 from Liddle's Nursery in Australia, but have found that it was published as Hoya benitotanii in 2010. It has thick, succulent, shiny, green leaves. The golden yellow ball shape flowers with light yellow star corona are unusual and attractive. I personally am not normally the biggest fan of revolute flowers, but these are quite showy and I like them very much. The flowers also have a nice perfume fragrance and they last more or less one week! This species is a good bloomer for me. It seems to be a little bit on the slow side to root from a cutting, but once it gets going it grew pretty fast for me. This Hoya is native to The Philippines and it is rarely offered for sale. We grow our hoyas outside in S. FL in filtered light, keep soils on the dry side and protect from cold temperatures.
